| Sue Pruett is a Master Decorative Artist with the Society of Decorative Painters. She started painting in 1977, and it is now her passion. To earn the title of Master Decorative Artist requires passing four painting tests on specific subjects, which are strokework, still life, and glowers. This title took Sue eight years of intense studying and practice to attain. She is now one of the judges for this certification program of the Society of Decorative Painters. Sue has authored four books and several magazine articles. A native Californian, Sue now resides in Oceanside with husband Chris; two daughters, Kristina and Nicole; and a dark semi-sweet chocolate Labrador named Hershey. Sue has been teaching decorative art for 25 years, and her passion for art is as strong as the day she began painting. Sues teaching takes her to wonderful people and places in our nation and abroad. The friendships along the way are an extra bonus, which feeds her passion for more knowledge. Her favorite topics are realism, still life, floral, landscapes, murals, faux, and trompe loeil. Teaching theory is the focus of her seminars and classes as she enjoys dissecting the whys of color, harmony, intensity, values, form, and temperatures. Understanding how to be an artist is so much more rewarding than doing what you are told to do. | |||||||||||||
